Lead Plumber

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Lead Plumber to run jobs from the first knock to the final walkthrough. This is the person a homeowner remembers, and the one the rest of the crew looks to when a job turns out to be something other than what was booked.

Much of our work is in established Sacramento neighborhoods — Midtown, Land Park, East Sacramento, Curtis Park — where houses were built before 1995 and the plumbing has the history to prove it. Galvanized supply, cast iron drains, and previous repairs of every quality. You should be comfortable making the call on what a house actually needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Run service and installation jobs end to end, on your own or with a helper
• Diagnose supply, drain, sewer and water heater problems and explain the options in plain language
• Repipe, replace sewer and water lines, and install water heaters, softeners and filtration
• Pull permits and meet code on work that calls for inspection
• Mentor junior plumbers and apprentices on site
• Keep the truck stocked and the paperwork complete the same day

Requirements

• Five or more years of residential plumbing experience
• California C-36 license, or the hours to sit for it
• Confident diagnosing older homes, not only new construction
• Valid driver license and a clean record
• Able to talk a homeowner through a repair without talking down to them
• Background check and drug screening
